There are different ways for you to perfectly cook a steak from the comforts of your own home. This saves you money and you have to admit that it’s a more romantic date idea. There are different cuts available and each one delivers their own level of tenderness and flavor. A sirloin is a prime steak that has more flavor than fillet. It tastes best when served medium-rare. A T-bone is cooked in the oven. A bavette is cheap. It is usually great for barbecuing. A fillet is the most expensive cut. It contains a few percentages of fat. It can be served rare.

If you’re cooking indoors, it is more advisable to fry or grill your steaks. Use a heavy-duty pan. Make sure that the pan is roomy enough so it would be unnecessary to squeeze in the steaks.

The seasoning plays an important role in how your steaks will taste. Some individuals want to preserve the natural taste of the meat. As such, they only sprinkle salt and pepper, nothing else. Salt the meat every two hours for each centimeter of thickness. This will allow the meat to thoroughly absorb the seasoning.

To achieve the classic pepper steak, all you need is cracked pepper and rock salt. Sprinkle the mixture generously over the surface of the steak and then cook it in a pan. You can enhance the flavor through other ingredients like vinegar, a coat of honey and mustard, garlic cloves, or thyme.

It is best to let the flavors of the meat stand out. As such, you should pick a flavorless cooking oil. These include sunflower oil, vegetable oil, or groundnut oil. As the meat is searing, you can add a chunk of butter for flavor. You should let the oil to split in the pan while slightly simmering, but it should not smoke.

How long should you cook it, you ask? There are five categories of steak. The blue steaks are dark purple and just warm. It must be cooked for only a minute and a half on each side. The red one is dark red with some red juice oozing out of the meet. This will be cooked for 135 seconds on each side. The medium-rare is pink and juicy, cooked for 195 seconds on each side. The medium is pale pink and cooked for 270 seconds on each side. The well-done category is cooked for four to five minutes on each side.
